Intel-Assess, Inc., provides assessment solutions to school districts designed to drive student improvement by providing educators actionable data. Intel-Assess allows districts to develop an assessment program that blends short cycle formative assessments designed for formative use, periodic benchmarks that align with the district's scope and sequence, and summative assessments. Districts can produce their own assessments with Intel-Assess' online, assessment creation tool, or Intel-Assess will produce assessments aligned to the district's blueprints. Intel-Assess also provides consultative services, including assisting districts in defining and executing effective assessment models.
The assessment specialist will manage the development of Math and Science assessments for districts and participate in alignment, research, and development projects in her content area. Specific responsibilities include:
- Review district assessment blueprints
- Provide feedback to districts on how to improve blueprints
- Build assessments from the item bank
- Review assessments to ensure high quality
- Respond to district feedback on assessments
- Write (or request from author team ) and revise items to meet district needs, including non-build customers
- Edit and revise items as needed to improve item bank quality
- Manage contractors supporting build projects
- Collaborate with the item development specialist to create item assignment specifications that fill coverage gaps and enhance the item bank
- Collaborate with the item development specialist to identify content projects that will enhance the item bank
- Participate in research, development, and field testing of new products
- Contribute content expertise to RFP responses
- Manage content projects as appropriate
- BA in mathematics or BS, MS preferred
- Experience writing, editing, and reviewing assessment items
- Experience developing and reviewing criterion referenced assessments
- Project management experience, including successfully managing assessment development for mid-stakes or high-stakes assessments
- K-12 Instructional and Professional Development experience
- Experience working in an Educational Technology company
- Administrative Credential or Masters Degree in Education
- Understanding of assessment programs and best practices
- Understanding of blueprint construction
- Expertise in the MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Expertise in on-line technology applications
This is a full-time position:
- Located in CA preferable, but not required; however, the successful candidate will be able to work from a home-office
- Requires an estimated 15% travel to work with districts in execution of their assessment program
