Deryl Seale
Vice President, Technology

Deryl Seale comes to Intel-Assess with more than ten years experience developing commercial software applications, a majority of that time spent building web-based applications for the K-12 education market. Mr. Seale's expertise ranges from an in-depth understanding of the technologies that power Internet applications to a seasoned knowledge of Agile development practices that drive cost effective software development. As well, Mr. Seale built engineering organizations from the ground up in start-up environments.

Mr. Seale most recently served as Lead Engineer at Riverside Publishing Company, where he led successful major software releases, as well as introduced and championed the overhaul of the product development processes, along with Intel-Assess co-founder Harvey Goodman in favor of a more Agile methodology.

Prior to Riverside Publishing, Mr. Seale served as Application Architect at Classroom Connect, an online professional development subsidiary of Harcourt-Brace. While at Classroom Connect, he led several major software releases, including designing and leading the implementation of several large applications from the ground up. Mr. Seale also led an effort to replace several of the vendor technologies driving Classroom Connect's applications with open source alternatives saving the company over $100,000 in licensing and maintenance fees annually.

Mr. Seale also served as Lead Architect at Project ACHIEVE, a software start-up specializing in online curriculum management. As the third employee and the first engineer, he was responsible for the design of the system architecture and for scaling the team to 12 members. He actively managed all phases of product development, from business analysis to architecture design to implementation and deployment. Mr. Seale also served as Senior Engineer at Tivoli Systems.
